Veterans Honored!

To celebrate Veteran's Day, Mrs. Elizabeth DeLuna's fifth-grade writing students read The Wall by Eve Bunting to learn an appreciation for our American Veterans that have sacrificed so much for our freedom. Students wrote about veterans and honored them on their own wall in the hallway.  They experienced the poem, In Flanders Field by John McCrae.  This poem is about the poppy, the symbol that honors and shows remembrance of our soldiers.  LIS ACE students then participated in the American Legion Auxilary's Poppy Poster Contest to bring awareness of our American Veterans.
