LIS Loves the Texas Bluebonnet Winner!

LIS students, along with 54,784 other Texas students, cast 10,882 votes for the 2021 Texas Bluebonnet Book. The winner of the 2021 Texas Bluebonnet Award is "If I Built a School," written and illustrated by Chris Van Dusen. This book was also the winner at LIS. Students read at least five books in the library with Librarian Mrs. Abi Swain to vote. In this whimsical, beautifully illustrated book, schoolboy Jack imagines a fantastic school with a zoo, trampoline basketball, hover desks, a robot chef, field trips to outer space, and more. LIS is one of 1,275 schools registered that submitted their votes. Mrs. Swain and LIS students have been waiting on these results for over a month! IS students all watched the reveal video together as a campus and were very excited when they learned they had picked the winner!
