National Read Across America Day!

LIS students have been enjoying Dr. Seuss all year long because that is their school theme this year (LISville). However, on National Read Across America Day, the birthday of Dr. Seuss, LIS students focused on reading! The office staff were caught wearing silly socks to go along with the Dr. Seuss book, Fox in Socks. LIS students enjoyed this reading awareness day in many ways, but Mrs. DeeAnn Henderson's 4th-grade students were found in the library playing Dr. Seuss Book Bingo with Mrs. Abi Swain. Mrs. Swain had free books and other prizes for bingo winners, so all were very engaged in the reading task. Mrs. Swain and Mrs. Tidwell also made Truffula Seed Bags for every LIS student to enjoy. Thank you, Mrs. Swain, for encouraging students to read!
