LIS Fourth Graders show how to “Take Care of Texas” by entering a Keep Texas Beautiful Contest. “I like the idea of this contest,” science teacher Mrs. Lopez said. “It covers renewable and nonrenewable resources, recycling, & conservation of energy like we have been learning in our current science unit.” Students in Miss Lopez, Mr. Hill, Mrs. Tate & Mrs. Sanders classes worked on their poster concepts for several days to make colorful entries for the contest. The overall winner could have their artwork appear on the United Supermarkets reusable bag in the Levelland store. “I want to give out some class awards as well,” Mr. Hill said. “I selected three other teachers to grade my posters and select a first and second place for each class for a prize.” First through third winners will receive coupons for local restaurants.
