LIFE Grants Awarded!

Every year, our LIFE Foundation comes through for LISD educators. This year LIFE awarded fourteen LISD teachers with grants totaling $5,000.63. LIFE donates money to LISD teachers to make their out-of-the-box ideas come to fruition. LIS educators receiving LIFE grants are Clara Sanders and Russell Hill. Mrs. Sanders asked for the LEGO Spike Prime Set for her Robotics students, making it easier for them to code their robots for competitions. Mr. Hill is sponsoring a new LIS Student written Newsletter, and he will buy cameras to teach the photography portion of the process. We thank LIFE for helping to fill our classrooms with STEAM activities and helping our students have 21st-Century innovative minds of tomorrow... while having fun! LIFE operates solely on donations and fundraisers. If you would like to help out students and teachers, you can make a LIFE donation at City Bank or Hockley County School Employees Credit Union. Thank you to Lillian Northcutt for bringing the cheerleaders, to Mr. John Barry for bringing the drumline, to Superintendent McCutchen, and to the LIFE Board for helping to make these grants a "big deal."
